1840 William Henry Harrison. DeWitt-WHH-G. Silver. 33.9 mm. MS-62 (NGC).,Beautifully reflective fields exhibit considerable toning, as from an old cabinet. The obverse is deep gray, with soft blue and russet mottling that masks some light hairlines. The reverse is lovely blue-green and soft golden brown. Sharp and very attractive. According to Sullivan, the November 1862 Bangs, Merwin & Co. sale stated just 11 examples were struck in silver. Later, Woodward reported the number to be 10. Very rare. This medal was represented in the Ford Collection by examples in brass and white metal, but there was none in this precious metal.,From the Brian Dobbins Collection of American Political Tokens.
