The original packaging is included. The 1947 is the premier Mint set in U.S. coinage history, and it is also popular with collectors as the only official Mint set to contain examples of the Walking Liberty half dollar, which type was replaced by the Franklin half dollar in 1948. Numismatic scholars estimate that only 5,000 or so 1947 Mint sets were distributed, many of which have been broken up and the individual coins dispersed over the years.
