1903 Louisiana Purchase Exposition Gold Dollar. McKinley Portrait. MS-67 (PCGS). CAC. OGH.,Gorgeous satin surfaces feature subtle reddish-rose peripheral toning on otherwise orange-gold patina. The mintage for the McKinley Portrait Louisiana Purchase Exposition gold dollar was 125,000 pieces. Many, however, did not sell and were later melted. The estimated distribution to contemporary collectors is between 16,000 and 20,000 pieces, roughly equal to the number of examples sold for its Jefferson Portrait counterpart. This is one of the finest pieces extant, and it would serve with distinction in an advanced collection of classic commemorative coinage.,PCGS# 7444. NGC ID: 26HB.,,
