1825/4/2 Capped Bust Quarter. B-2. Rarity-2. MS-62 (PCGS). CAC.,A handsome and fully original example with mottled light to moderate patina adorning both sides. Satiny surfaces are uncommonly smooth in appearance for the assigned grade, both the quality and eye appeal suggesting a Choice Mint State rating. The strike is bold to sharp throughout. Both known obverse dies of this issue have recently been classified as 1825/4/2, replacing older classifications of 1825/4/3, 1825/3, and so on. The obverse of B-2 and B-3, represented here, is distinguished from that of B-1 by having star 13 well below the edge of Libertys lowest hair curl. On the reverse of B-2 the denomination 25 C. is high in the field and close to the arrow feather and branch stem. Although plentiful in an absolute sense, examples of this die marriage are rare in Mint State, the coin offered here numbering among the 25 or 30 finest known per the 2010 census compiled by Rory R. Rea et al.,PCGS# 5337.,,
