1819 Capped Bust Quarter. B-3. Rarity-1. Small 9. AU-55 (PCGS).，A beautiful Choice AU, both sides retain nearly complete satin luster beneath iridescent lilac-gray and golden-apricot toning. Boldly to sharply defined from a well centered and nicely executed strike with a pleasingly smooth appearance in hand. Both die marriages of the 1819 Small 9 <em>Guide Book</em> variety share an interesting reverse with the digit 5 in the denomination repunched and two periods after the adjacent C. In the B-3 pairing, offered here, this reverse is mated with an obverse on which the digit 8 in the date is centered between the 1s.
