Gold Coin Watch Fashioned from a 1904-S Liberty Double Eagle.，Gold Bueche-Girod pocket watch in the interior of what appears to be a normal 1904-S Liberty Double Eagle. The entire movement and hinge mechanism of this watch is mounted inside a hollowed-out 1904-S double eagle. When you press a virtually undetectable button on the right edge, the obverse of the coin pops open to reveal a fine 17 Jewel movement mounted on a hinged mechanism that allows the clock face to stand vertically and function as a free-standing clock. The interior parts, as well as the watch itself, are marked 18K and .750. The parts made from the Double Eagle are not marked, but of course are the standard .900 fine. The watch is currently running, and the hinge and latch mechanisms function perfectly. The crystal is finely cracked, but is complete and the damage does not affect the movement of the hands. A very cleverly made item that will fascinate all who inspect it. Other than for the easily replaceable cracked crystal, virtually as made. <p><p><br />
