Handsome medium gold surfaces are reflective in the fields with more of a satiny texture to the devices. The interplay between these two finishes provides strong eye appeal and readily upholds the validity of the coveted Cameo designation from PCGS. Smooth in hand with pinpoint striking detail throughout, it is difficult for us to imagine a more pleasing example of either the type or issue at the assigned grade level.<p>Introduced in 1840 and produced yearly with no major changes to the design, the Liberty Head quarter eagle series finally passed into history in 1907 with mintages of 154 Proofs and 336,294 circulation strikes from the Philadelphia Mint. This is an uncommonly well preserved survivor from the former delivery, one of perhaps 100 pieces known, and it would do equally well in a high quality specimen type or date set.，PCGS# 87933.
