Canal Dover, Ohio. $50 1882 Brown Back. Fr. 512. The First NB. Charter #4331. PCGS Fine 15.This bank was chartered in 1890 as the First National Bank of Canal Dover. A word was dropped on June 8, 1916, and it simply became the First National Bank of Dover. The presently offered $50 1882 Brown Back is a pleasing example of a major rarity, not only from this bank where it is one of only two known, but in general, as relatively few large denomination Brown Backs exist. When they cross the block, there is a tremendous amount of bidding interest. We anticipate a lot of excitement when this comes up for sale. From the Yuri Solovey Collection.
