CHINA. Silver Medal, 1909.37.1 mm; 25.4 gms. Dupriez-1676. Struck to commemorate the visit of his excellence Tong-Shao-Yi, correspndent of the Emperor of China upon his visit to the Brussels Mint in Belgium.<br />Tong-Shao-Yi was a Chinese Diplomat and Politician. He studied at Queens College in Hong Kong and Columbia University of New York. He was the first president of Shandong University, on of Chinas oldest and most prestigious universities. He was appointed Prime Minister in 1912 under Yuan Shi Kai along with many other undertakings. On September 30th, 1938 he was assassinated at his home in Shanghai for suspected collaboration with the Japanese.<br />EXTREMELY RARE.NGC MS-62.
