CHINA. Jin Dynasty 1115-1234 A.D. Silver 40 Taels (40 Liang) Sycee Ingot, Dated Year 1 of the Reign of Zhenyou (1213).1376 gms. Emperor Xuanzong (8th of the 10 Jin Dynasts), 1213-23 A.D. (Title as Zhenyou 1213-7 A.D). Dated Zhenyou Year 1 (1213), Shangjing (Premier Capital, Huining, what is now Heilongjinag) paper money treasury ingot silver of 40 Liang. Hand carved characters with denomination at lower left and rulers name and date in the right hand column. <br /> In 1211, about 50,000 Mongols under Genghis Khan invaded the Jin Empire. The Jin army had half million men with 150,000 cavalry but abandoned the "western capital". The next year, the Mongols went north and looted the Jin "eastern capital". <br /> VERY RARE and highly desirable as coins of the emperor Zhenyou are extremely difficult to obtain.
