THAILAND. Government of Siam. 1,000 Baht, ND (1939). P-37s.Specimen printed by TDLR. This 1,000 Baht note is one of incredible group of the denomination we are offering and is likely a piece missing in even the most comprehensive of collections. Being highly scarce in any form with these specimens being far more rare. The note shows in a larger format style and exhibits the typical design mastery that TDLR is known for. Widely ornate borders are found in the red-brown ink color and a detailed portrait of King Rama VIII as a boy is seen at left. A terrifically detailed vignette of the Temple of Dawn at center with multicolored guilloche above with Garuda bird at top center. Three headed elephant at lower left and back design seen with detailed depiction of the Royal Throne hall. Pedestal watermark and seen with lovely originally embossed inks and only mounting remnants at the back right to mention. Certainly an offering that will not be replicated in the near future.PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 Net. Previously Mounted.
