满洲中央银行壹仟圆 PMG VF 30
CHINA--PUPPET BANKS. Central Bank of Manchukuo. 1,000 Yuan, ND (1944). P-J146.(S/M#M2-84) A design type which we have not previously seen in any form and will certainly be well regarded by collectors. The note is the highest denomination for the series and offers some of the most appealing styling this cataloger has seen on collectible currency. A large format is welcomed and the bordering design is seen in black along with portrait vignette of Confucius at right and Cheng Tien building at left.
Cockerels at far left and right with ornamental star at top center. Wonderfully vivid purple under-printing with floral central styling with two emerging dragons. Back noticed in a light gray-green color with brown outlying guilloches. The overall appeal of the note rivals that of Extremely Fine material and the note is seen with only a spot of minor rust and a few carefully executed small repairs. Currently the only piece PMG has graded for the catalog number.PMG Very Fine 30 Net. Repaired, Minor Rust.
