Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Bank of Fayette County. July 15, 1861. $1. Fine.;(PA-655 G2a) NBNC. Ornate die counters in red end panels at left and right. Red border prints. Cattle passing through gate with woman and child at center. Bank title above. We have not seen a public offering of a note from this bank for at least the last 10 years. Hoober provided an R-5 rarity rating for this denominaiton (415-1) as well as the other denominations from the bank. The lack of any recent appearances suggests it may be more rare than that. This is an excellent National Bank Note Company lay out. The paper is still wholesome given the level of circulation and the printed inks remain bold.
