1888 Morgan Silver Dollar. Proof-66 (PCGS). CAC.;Both sides of this 1888 Proof Morgan dollar are highly attractively toned. The obverse has iridescent cobalt blue and salmon pink iridescence around a copper-gray center. The more uniform reverse is awash in blended steel-olive, antique gold and silver-mauve shades. The strike is bold to sharp and a lively Proof finish is readily evident under a light. Survivors from this 833-piece Proof mintage are seldom encountered with the superior technical quality and strong eye appeal that define this premium Gem. If you are building a PCGS Registry Set, consider this coin carefully!;From our (Stacks) sale of the S.S. Forrest, Jr. Collection, September 1972, part of lot 891.
