1864-S Liberty Double Eagle. AU Details--Damage (PCGS).;A satisfying rose-gold example of this popular date, with deeper burnt orange patina in select areas. True damage is minimal, with just light abrasions that deflect the luster scattered about. These occurrences are most concentrated in the right obverse field and within the stars on the reverse. The strike is uniformly bold, displaying a trifle softness to Libertys hair that is characteristic to this issue. Actual wear is, in fact, relatively low, as is evidenced by significant luster that remains throughout.;From the Graywood Collection.
