Fr-1446; KM-17 (unlisted date); Gomes-66.01. VERY RARE colonial India struck gold piece. Crude die work and strike as is normal for issues struck in India at the time. Nearly full arms on obverse with some of the crown beads visible, reverse is slightly off center but with nearly full cross and three digits of date visible. Some deep toning and the remnants of light earthen deposits adding character to the otherwise nice yellow gold appearance. Some light contact marks as should be expected but nothing adverse or detracting. Seldom offered and difficult to obtain..NGC VF-35.
