No. 180, Plate F. Known as the "Manouvrier" after its New Orleans printer J. Manouvrier, this was a short lived type of which only 15,556 were issued. The Confederate government in Richmond was not fond of the types simplistic style despite the fact that it is the only 1861 type with a printed back. The present note is darkly printed on the face with boldly detailed design elements and well penned signatures. The back is lighter as they are often seen but still easily legible. ,From the Old Virginia Collection.
