Gabrisch Collection of Coins of Tibet and Nepal, Tibetan, COINS OF Ladakh and Gahwal, Arab Sasanian: Silver Drachm, anonymous, Khusrau III type, with mint signature for Bishapur, late 7th century (Walker Pl III, 10), with circular countermark in Bactrian script reading ‘Fromo Gesaro…’ (Caesar of Rome). Very fine and rare. The ruler who applied the countermark, probably in Iran, may have been, in some way, connected with the hero of the Tibet epic poems entitled the Gesar Saga.
