BELGIUM. Flanders. Chaise dOr, ND (1346-84). Ghent or Mechelen Mint. Louis II de Male. PCGS MS-62.Fr-163; Delm-466. Weight: 4.41 gms. Obverse: Louis, holding sword and resting hand upon shield with lion, seated facing on ornate throne; Reverse: Ornate cross, with trefoils at ends, in quadrilobe; rosettes in quarters. An incredibly Choice example of the type, with glittering surfaces and sharp details--especially on the kings face. Quite scarce in any Mint State grade, this is a wonderful Medieval gold type worthy of the finest of cabinets.
