Mintmaster: Nicolaus Schwabe. Unusually nicely struck for type and with remains of original luster. Two different obverse dies were used with markedly different portraits of which this, resembling the one used for minor coins like the Soesling, Hede-82, is by far the rarest with only a very few in private ownership.<p><em>Schwabe, who had immigrated from Saxony, was assigned to the Royal Danish court in 1595 and became the first to produce struck medals in Denmark. In 1602 he was appointed mintmaster in Copenhagen where this wonderful gold klippe was struck.</em>From the L. E.
