1808 Classic Head Cent. S-277, B-1. Rarity-2. AU-50 (PCGS).Breen Die State IV. Marbled golden-tan and medium brown patina adorns both sides of this overall smooth, appreciably glossy example. The obverse is trivially off center with no denticulation from 6 to 8 oclock, although the reverse is better centered on the planchet. Apart from star 1, all major design elements are boldly to sharply defined. Given the conditionally challenging nature of the Classic Head cent series, this above average survivor of the first year 1808 holds particular appeal for high grade type purposes.PCGS# 36457.
