1803 Draped Bust Cent. S-255, B-14. Rarity-1. Small Date, Small Fraction. AU-53 (PCGS).Breen Die State I. An attractive piece with good centering and a bold to sharp strike throughout the design. Wear is light, as befits the assigned PCGS grade, and most of the marks are minor and do little more than further confirm a relatively short stint in active circulation. A tiny nick at the front edge of Libertys throat readily identifies this piece, which also shows a thin, shallow planchet flaw meandering through the upper right reverse periphery, looping into the tops of the letters AM in AMERICA. Generally deep walnut-brown in color with intermingled olive, as well as silvery outlines to many of the obverse design elements. Choice VF by stricter EAC standards, and a nice representative of both the type and Sheldon number.PCGS# 36380. BASE PCGS# 1482. NGC ID: 224G.From the Widmer Family Collection. Earlier from Heritages Dallas Signature Auction of November 2018, lot 3364.
