CORINTHIA. Corinth. AR Stater (8.53 gms), ca. 400-375 B.C. NGC AU★, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 5/5.Pegasi-157; Ravel-600. Obverse: Pegasos flying left; Reverse: Helmeted head of Athena right; double-bodied owl behind. A spectacular Stater, scoring high marks on both strike and surface quality, with an enveloping tone that paints the surfaces in steely to blue complexion. Actual evidence of wear is difficult to spot, and this example certainly has the eye appeal one would expect from a "star" graded specimen. To view all items from the John P.
