Kingston, Arkansas. W.P. Rodgers. 1862 25 Cents. PMG Extremely Fine 40.No. 2147. Rothert 351-1. Located in northwest Arkansas. Kingston was laid out in 1853 by King Johnson who had relocated to Arkansas from Tennessee. The entire town was subsequently burned during the American Civil War and leaves one to wonder as to how this item even survived. This particular emission is listed as an R-7 rarity in <em>Arkansas Obsolete Notes and Scrip</em> by Matt Rothert.
