CONSTANTINE IV with HERACLIUS and TIBERIUS, 668-685. AV Solidus (4.39 gms), Constantinople Mint, 7th Officina, ca. 674-681. NGC MS, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 4/5. Clipped.S-1156. Obverse: Helmeted and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with horseman motif; Reverse: Cross potent set upon three steps; at sides, Heraclius and Tiberius standing facing, each holding globus cruciger; N//CONOB. Slightly off-center obverse strike, but the sharp struck from fresh dies imparted exceptionally clear detail throughout. A beautiful Mint State example with a tremendously lustrous quality. The noted clipping is extremely minor, as the coins nearly full-weight flan would suggest.
