A $50 Silver Certificate is a major rarity regardless of condition or signature combination that can explained away by the fact that these notes failed to circulate outside of a very limited context. Most were invariably redeemed as many were held by banks or similar financial institutions while the survival of a small handful of survivors can be chalked up to sheer circumstance in the face of long odds. That distinction can be reflected in the survivors recorded for the Lyons - Roberts signature combination which records close to 40 examples according to Track & Price. Yet among those pieces are no runs of high-grade examples sourced from period cash hoards while just a tiny handful of betters are recorded for this specimen per the PMG Population Report.
