This particular item is an uncommonly elaborate testament to period engraving on account of the depiction of Providence flanked by the Latin statement PROVIDENTIA NOSTRIS PRAESIDEAT "Let foresight guide us" and the depiction of Atlas on the verso whom is depicted carrying a boulder symbolic of the heavens. Far superior to the example we sold in November 2022 for $456 in terms of grade assigned and other qualities pertaining to both aesthetics and eye appeal.From the Richard August Collection.
