Stylistically simplistic, but profoundlybeautiful in execution with aged trees on the reverse flanking thetomb of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of unified China, and theiconic Great Wall of China, much of it put in place by Huang, onthe obverse. Several light hairlines in the open fields define thegrade, but these are nothing to be trifled over. As the scantmintage would suggest, this commemorative issue is rare and giventhe cultural heritage theme of the issue, it's no surprise thatofferings are even rarer. While no recent auction records areavailable, a single private treaty sale has been noted fromreliable source at $134,998 in August of 2011. We have little doubtthat the present coin, given its long absence from the public eye,will garner similar attention.
