DENMARK. Krone, 1723-HCM. Copenhagen Mint. Frederick IV. NGC MS-61.Dav-1290; KM-523; Hede-39; Sieg-19; Schou-2. Finer than the MS-60 example we sold as lot 115 in Part I of the L.E. Bruun Collection, September 2024, this is undoubtedly one of the FINEST KNOWN examples of this conditionally challenging issue. Pale gray overtones on lustrous and pleasing silver surfaces. Well struck throughout, but some minor weakness, as typical for the issue is noted. Light mint made planchet striations are seen with the aid of a strong glass but do not detract from the great eye appeal of this impressive Danish crown.
