MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1859-Oa AE. Oaxaca Mint. NGC EF-45. KM-377.11; DP-Oa03. Variety with eagle of 1859-60, featuring the more refined eagle design. This highly coveted "A inside O" mintmark date exhibits several pronounced die cracks that bisect both sides. Although crudely produced, seldom encountered in such a grade, with NGC having only one other at this level with four finer. For perspective, we sold another example of this date and variety, which was graded VF Details--Environmental Damage, for $1,080 in 2020.
