A VERY RARE variety that lacks the "island" annulet below the map outline on the obverse, this is only the third example we can ever recall presenting at auction. Obsidian surfaces have patina a bit too rich to warrant a numerical grade from PCGS, but the overall appearance is nonetheless consistent and appealing with complete detail and a relatively smooth texture. For those specialists who have long sought a more affordable example, this is a fleeting chance.
