A particularly fascinating variety, using the same obverse die as seen on the unique gold St. Patricks farthing. Beautiful glossy light brown with an expansive splash on a nice broad planchet. Aside from some planchet texture at the soft centers, the surfaces of this piece are essentially pristine. One unusual aspect is the three lined-up punchmarks that have been added post-striking to enrich the level of detail on the mitre.
