Fr. 356. 1891 $2 Treasury Note. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ. Portrait at right of Union Major General James McPherson, whom was killed in the July 1864 Battle of Atlanta. He served as chief engineer under General Grant in 1862, the Vicksburg Campaign from 1862-63, and the battle of Shiloh in 1864, after which he was given command of the Army of the Tennessee. This redesigned Open Back note offers original paper, which is sure to be well received by collectors. The designs are dark and the overprints stand out in dark red ink.
