Attractive golden olive with traces of pale blue in the obverse fields and deeper gold in the protected areas close to the rims. Scattered small patina spots are evident at a certain angle to the light. Well struck, attractive and rare. While a few tokens for the 36th Indiana appear in our archives, only a single example is of this denomination and variety, this very piece, last offered in our decade-old Ford sale, part XXIII. Three others have appeared in the Hayden archives, all in respectably nice grades, but it has been five years since the most recent sale. From the Bill Kelly Collection of Civil War Sutler Tokens.
