The medallion with frame and eagle 28 mm x 44 mm. The reverse is engraved HOMER WISE / JAN 8 1894. on the back of the frame, as well as his membership number 1507 on the eagles wing. Additionally the mark of the maker, Bailey, Banks & Biddle shares the reverse of the eagle. These were probably originally issued for the December 4, 1883 event held at Fraunces Tavern in commemoration of Washingtons farewell to his officers held there a century before. The finish of the oval medallion is antique silver gray. An excellent example with complete enamels and ribbon.
