An unframed, ungilt version of the type with decorative border offered in the preceding lot. Below the text and signatures appears Blacks copyright legend ENTERED ACCORDING TO ACT OF CONGRESS, IN THE YEAR 1859 BY S.H. BLACK IN THE CLERKS OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT COURT OF THE UNITED STATES FOR THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF NEW YORK. Minor damage to the top of the decorative border, at 12 oclock, is noted for accuracy. Also included in this lot is an unframed portrait of a man, seemingly late 19th or early 20th century, that probably served as backing for the plaque in an early framing.
