One of the two signature combinations with the large red spiked treasury seal, this Rosecrans-Huston is far scarcer with a little over 100 reported in Track and Prices census for the type, compared to over 300 for the Rosecrans-Hyatt type. The vivid seal contrasts quite well with the fresh milky white paper. Well printed with an excellent impression of the face design. The reverse of the note displays exquisite detail of the design which immediate draws collectors to this type: the five silver dollar coins lined up across the center, with the obverse of the Moran Silver Dollar at center, and the coin reverse is flanking at left and right of the central coin. Bold green ink tones highlight the intricate details of the back design, helping to accentuate the intricate lathe work. Large borders nicely frame this piece, offering art-like appeal. A key type of note of any large-size collection, and a worthy candidate for any collection of Gem banknotes.
