1865 Nickel Three-Cent Piece--Struck 15% Off Center--VF-20 (PCGS).Struck off center to 12:30, the date is full and, in fact, virtually all major design elements are suitably bold. The upper obverse border minimally encroaches into the word OF, and on the reverse only the ribbon ends are mostly off the flan due to the error. Pleasing silver-gray surfaces are nicely preserved for a moderately circulated, early date three-cent nickel. Scarce and desirable as a major Mint error, especially given the brevity of this 19th century odd denomination series.PCGS# 3731.
