The Masonic symbols are in the center and flanked by the inscription RICHMOND VA. F.W.C TO AHS JR. in the left field, WHO RAISED THE STARS & / STRIPES OVER THE CAPITOL / APRIL 3D 1865 in the right field. The host coin with medium and olive-gray patina, light hairlines from a cleaning, the reverse with a few minor edge bumps. A historic moment in Civil War history, and a piece that begs for additional study to identify the persons (Union Army soldiers?) whose initials are part of the inscription.Collector tag and cardboard 2x2 included.
