This is a popular French-made medal commemorating the career of the famous Confederate general who died after being hit by friendly fire at the Battle of Chancellorsville, May 1863. We have only handled one other copper-plated example of similar quality in recent years, an NGC MS-63 from the Jeff Shevlin Collection that realized $1,020 in our August 2021 sale. The present example is accompanied by the original black leather, green plush interior fitted case, which is fully functional with only minor exterior edge scuffs. (Total: 1 medal; 1 case)
