Pennsylvania--Philadelphia. "1821" Philadelphia Museum. Rulau-E Pa 399. Julian UN-22. Rarity-7. Silver. Plain Edge. MS-62 (NGC).32 mm. Medallic alignment. This deep steel-gray beauty is alive with luster and deep slate highlights around the devices. The surfaces hold up well to magnified scrutiny, and the overall appearance is decidedly choice given the assigned grade. The Rulau reference suggests that just a dozen or so examples of the issue can be accounted for today, and that the silver pieces were issued "as a reward for service to the Museum or for advancement of science, in memory of the late founder."Ex Ralph Goldstone, February 1962; George L.
