Issued by decree of 20 December 1834, suppressed 31 March 1837 (by decree of 1 February 1836). Countermark: Type VI, crowned Y.II. in incuse circle. Applied to the obverse of an 1834-SANTIAGO IJ Chile Republic "Volcano" Peso (KM-82.2). A quite pleasing example, this wholesome piece yields strong details and light traces of handling. A most impressive specimen.
