Countermark applied to the obverse of a 1834-SANTIAGO IJ Chile Peso (KM-82.2). Issued by decree of 20 December 1834, suppressed 31 March 1837 (by decree of 1 February 1836).This attractive and slightly worn survivor exhibits even wear with signs of handling consistent for the grade. The countermark, though slightly uneven, is bold with good definition on nice looking host. Lightly toned with subtle gold coloration amongst the devices and protected areas.
