CELTIC. Lower Danube. AR Tetradrachm, ca. 3rd-2nd Centuries B.C. NGC Ch F. Lanz-904; OTA-579. Imitating Philip III of Macedon. Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left; two monograms in left field, Z below throne. A charming example of this rather crude Celtic type with pleasingly toned surfaces. Exhibiting the typical weak strike for this issue but satisfyingly wholesome overall.
