1831 Matron Head Cent. N-14. Rarity-4. Large Letters. AU Details--Corrosion Removed (PCGS). A well pedigreed and fairly high grade example of this scarce variety. Bluntly struck but there is little actual wear and frosty luster remains in the fields on each side. Just extremely faint hairlines that require a glass to see on overall attractive steel-brown and chocolate surfaces. PCGS# 36991. NGC ID: 225M. From the John McBride Collection. Earlier ex Henry C. Hines; Homer K. Downing; New Netherlands Coin Co.s 1952 ANA Sale, lot 2179; Willard C. Blaisdell, September 1976; Del Bland, September 1976; Goldbergs sale of the R.E.
