1822 Matron Head Cent. N-9. Rarity-5-. EF-40 (PCGS). A richly toned charcoal-copper example with intermingled blushes of lighter medium and rose-brown. Both sides are ideally centered in strike, all design elements retaining bold to sharp detail in the absence of all but light high point wear. The surfaces are microscopically rough due to light carbon deposits, but the planchet is hard, tight and free of significant marks or other blemishes.
