QING: Qi Xiang, 1861, AE charm (8.15g), Board of Works Mint, Peking, H-22.1122, Fine to VF, ex K.K. Lee Collection, in old American Missionary Church Tithe & Offering Envelope dated March 11, 1923. This is the first nian hao (reign title) of Tong Zhi meaning order and prosperity. Very few coins minted with this reign title were produced and none were officially put into circulation. Likely a contemporary or later made casting in the late Qing Dynasty as the fabric and metal are consistent with that era.
