ARAB-BYZANTINE: Standing Caliph, ca. 692-697, AE fals (3.07g), A-3544, cf. Goodwin-418/434, clear but undeciphered mint name right of the circle-on-steps, the usual wâf left; different from any of the mystery mints cited by Goodwin; struck on a very odd-shaped flan, strong VF, RRR. The first three letters might be interpreted as LTA, perhaps misspelled LTAQYA for the city of Lataqiya on the Syrian cost.
