Fr. 1133-H. 1918 $1000 Federal Reserve Note. St. Louis. PMG Very Fine 20. Just eight 1918 $1000 Federal Reserve Notes on the St. Louis district are recorded in Track & Prices census. This monumental offering should not be taken lightly, as it will be the first time we can recall handling this catalog number from this district publicly. This is essentially the highest denomination still legal tender large size note that is collectible as $5000 and $10,000 notes are unknown in private hands. Founding father Alexander Hamiltons stately portrait is found at center on the face while bold 1000 counters are prominently displayed in the corners. On the reverse our national bird with wings spread proudly is seen at center flanked by large denominational counters. PMG comments "Minor Restoration." Just four examples have been graded by PMG.
