Fr. 362. 1891 $5 Treasury Note. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ. Rosecrans - Nebeker signature combination. Strong color is seen on this wonderfully preserved Open Back Legal. The "Rock of Chickamauga", General Henry Thomas, is depicted at center. Above his portrait is a gothic font of "United States of America" in dark black ink with a "V" counter at left whilst a "5" is at right. The small red scalloped treasury seal pops on the bright paper and contrasts quite well with the dark design details. PMG comments "Great Embossing & Color." PMG Pop 4/1 Finer.
